i know i havent been updating here
its because, for some reason,

but a lot's been goin on,

…i spent a lot of yesterday working on preproduction with mike and dave, on this next new piece of music, “something sacred”.

it’s coming out very well, we’ll see how it goes in the studio.

(we should be workin at Conway this weekend, if you’re around, stop by and hangout!)

a friend’s boyfriend sorta vanished on her for yesterday, so i spent a bit of the day over there, just hangin out and being there with her… ordered some really good brazilian food (from Bossa Nova on robertson in west hollywood)… and watched tv with her and her puppy.

i realized, it really doesn’t matter who you are, or how your relationship is… that moment of uncertainty is always the same.

but here’s to a better day!

So,
As some of you know, there have been some recent, strange and hilarious, even if insanely frustrating changes in my whole situation...

The whirling dervish of Life...

Because of which, I will not be able to see any of your beautiful faces in Austin this week.

But, while I'm staying in LA for writing and preproduction on some (very exciting) new music, I do have a few friends who are Extremely Excited to be doin their own things at Southby.

Just wanted to letya know, to inform that if you have an open hour, or somethin you were "supposed" to see, but don't reeaally want to, these shows won't disappoint.

All songs off her "debut record" are called symphonies, and besides the deeply badass jazz grooves woven into them by her phenomenal band, they are.
She plays violins, toy pianos, an array of analog and digital effects systems, and sings (beautifully).
Its sorta jaw-dropping.
Plus, she's supercute and very sweet.]

so, ive just been soooo busy...

writing, demo recording, development..

...so,
i've been writing so much.

i'm waiting for my band members to get back to town, and we'll be working to put together some beautiful new material for you to enjoy... but in the meantime, i've just been so focussed and locked into the writing process (and all the intense emotional and social factors that accompany) for a little while now.

so, if you have felt excluded from my life for the moment,
i apologize.

i become an outsider,
a stranger,
an animal sponge while writing.

plus, the weather here in LA has been so perfect for this-
off and on, warm and freezing, dry and storming...
perfectly contrasted.

its all so interesting though.

this life really is such a strange and exotic adventure.
